On March 16th I'll be moving from Maui back to Whidbey Island, in Washington state.
I spent two years here, and that's enough for me. You can only go to the beach just so many times before it gets old. I miss having 4 seasons. I miss fishing with a pole, instead of a spear. I like catching fish that I know the name of, that don't look like something from somebody's aquarium. I'm tired of sushi. I'm tired of spam. I'm tired of paying $2.50 for a package of hotdog buns, and almost $4 for a gallon of gas. I'm tired of paying $400 for an once of weed.
Mostley I'm tired of knowing that I'm just another white guy not suited to this environment, who should have left this place to those born to it. I don't feel the same connection to the earth that I did back where I grew up. I wish I did, but I don't. It's not my home. It's somebody else's home.
Maybe it was worth 2 years of my life to know this?
To know where I belong?
