"Death by misadventure" is what the Island county coroner called it. Arthur J. Hawley, the amateur blogger popularly known as "Happy Hippie" was found this afternoon hanging by the neck from an electrical cord, the victim of what appeared to be an attempted April fools joke gone tragically wrong.
"I hardly knew him" Neighbor Vern L. Equinox said. "I suspected he was a nice guy, because one night I heard some ruckus out by my pickup truck, and I was pretty sure I saw him leaving the scene, but the next day I noticed that he had removed all the cigarette butts out of my ashtray. Damned neighborly if you ask me"
Another neighbor who chose to remain anonymous commented "I knew there was something funny about the guy. Not as funny as if he would have blown his fool head off like that Cobain kid!" That would have been a real hoot, but he was funny none the less, in a tin foil hat wearing kind of way. Used to pee right off the porch in broad daylight!"
Services will be closed to all but family members, who aren't expected to show up either.
